Hari Tum Haro - Meera Bhajan
Jagyaseni Chatterjee
The Indian Dance Experience
Who else can be an example than the Raput princess Meera Bai who sang in utmost devotion, conviction and love for ‘her one - and the only one Krishna’. In her conversation with her Lord, she highlights the many varied situations when the Lord had shown his mercy and had appeared as the saviour of the world – like in the case of draupadi. No one but Krishna came for her rescue – like in the case of gajendra – he sweeped on his vehicle the moment Gajendra seeked help – as in the case of prahlada when the child’s unstinting conviction forced him to appear as Narasimha and kill Hiranyakasipu. She calls herself as Krishna’s slave – dasi meera and pleads to Krishna to come and release her from her pain – the pain of separation from Krishna.
Set to Darbari Kannada and talam adi. Choreographed by Dr. Lakshmi Ramaswamy.
